Nivi

Photographer

Hi I’m Nivi, and I'm a passionate Brooklyn based food, product, still life, and stop motion photographer. I’m currently taking projects in the LA and NY areas, and worldwide! I love highlighting texture and taste through evocative lighting in my work. I want you to not only see the food or product in an image, but to be able to feel it, smell it, and taste it. I really enjoy a collaborative process with my clients to create assets that not only look good, but that are effective in showing consumers what’s truly different about your brand. If I’m not on set, you can find me listening to a comedy podcast, running, baking, or eating Israeli/Mexican food (or maybe taking pictures of it).

What kinds of projects are you looking for?

My favorite clients are ones who understand that quality is more important than quantity. A smaller number of high quality images will get you further than a huge number of mediocre photos. High quality images can be used in many different ways, across many platforms, and create brand recognition. Above all, I love clients who respect me, my time, my craft, and my process!

What makes your work unique?

My favorite part about what I do is coming up with new, captivating ideas for my photos and stop motions. I focus a lot of my time and energy on conceptualizing something truly original, compelling, and beautiful for each and every project I work on. Often the photographer’s job is to simply direct and light, but my strengths lie in my ability to direct not only the crew and lighting, but the overall concept, feeling, and story. If I’m not the art/creative director, clients know that I have their concepts at the heart of every decision I make as the photographer. I am meticulously detailed and intentional with my images, but I also know when to step back and allow others to do their magic in their specialties. Possibly even more important, I treat everyone I meet, work with, and spend time with, with respect, appreciation, and kindness. Every person on a crew is equally important and essential and needs to be treated that way. I have so much love for the people that make what I do possible, and I make sure to show that in any and every way I can.

What does your creative process look like?

My creative process starts with lots of communication between myself and the client. Pre-production is the most important part of a project for me as it outlines all the expectations and creative for both myself and the client. This means lots of emails, calls, and video chats to ensure we're prepared for shoot day. When shoot day arrives, we're dialed in and ready for anything!
