Brand Designer

I build one-of-a-kind brands and websites. I’ve spent the last 20 years bringing brands to life, first with Pentagram and Milton Glaser, and now with my own small design studio in Brooklyn, NY. Because of my background and training, I can produce highly sophisticated work that looks like it was done by a big agency, but was in fact done by a two-man studio for a fraction of the price. I also happen to be the cofounder of the platform you are on now, Stellar, and did the branding as well. If you like it and want similar quality work, let's get started on a project!

What kinds of projects are you looking for?

I’m looking to work with founders of visionary companies who are looking for a fresh new brand identity and website design—preferably both. From “zero to hero" is my sweet spot. Too often businesses design a website without a cohesive brand identity, and I can help marry the two into a cohesive digital presence that will truly stand out. I would also love more work in the fitness, music, and tech spaces.

What makes your work unique?

Versatility. I excel at copywriting, strategy, logo design, visual identity, web design, and web development across multiple platforms (Shopify, Webflow, and Squarespace). When you hire me, you are getting a mini agency for the price of one seasoned creative, with less overhead. You are guaranteed a professional brand that works effectively across all mediums—your website, social, app, decks, print, and beyond will shine.

What does your creative process look like?

I always go wide first. This means looking at a ton of other work for inspiration, and accumulating a variety of visual and strategic data points about where the project could go. Likewise, I start the visual design process with a number of different directions and experiments—with logos, typography, and colors. This helps eliminate directions that don't work, and simultaneously better define those that really hit the mark. As I get closer to a solution, I really dig into the details, making sure that my initial presentations are thorough, impressive, and completely unique.
